The Good Life
"It's been a year or two since I was out on the floor
Shakin' booty, makin' sweet love all the night
It's time I got back to the good life
It's time I got back, it's time I got back
'n I don't even know how I got off the track"
I've been working on a new mix cd and rediscovered this track. What a great song and totally makes me want to rock out, dance and laugh all at the same time!

The Orange
I've been reading quite a bit as of late. I've picked up books again that I’ve tried several times to complete with no avail. And I’ve feverishly rediscovered books that I had trouble putting down after my first passing.
An old friend and I have even been engaging in something I haven't tackled since college – a literary dialogue. It’s been really refreshing to become infused with ideas from new authors.
Below is a poem I found last week by Wendy Cope that really pulled me in...
The Orange
by Wendy Cope
At lunchtime I bought a huge orange
The size of it made us all laugh.
I peeled it and shared it with Robert and Dave -
They got quarters and I had a half.
And that orange it made me so happy,
As ordinary things often do
Just lately. The shopping. A walk in the park
This is peace and contentment. It's new.
The rest of the day was quite easy.
I did all my jobs on my list
And enjoyed them and had some time over.
I love you. I'm glad I exist.
